Prospect Park Lake Paths Reserved for Faerie Function Sunday Night

Reminder: by decree of Queene Eurddolyn of the Nethermead Faerie Folk, paths along the southern shore of the Prospect Park Lake are closed to visitors between the hours of 1:30am and 4:20am Monday morning, for the annual “Dissolution” ceremony between her highness Queene Eurddolyn and King Gwawrddydd of the Fair Court of Willink Hill.

Decorating has already begun along the shore of the lake for the annual event with which the Faerie clans mark the approach of the winter solstice.

“From what I understand, it’s a sort of divorce ceremony,” says Prospect Park Event Coordinator Leticia Alvarez. “It’s balanced by the Re-Marriage Ceremony every April. From the decorations, it looks like the most beautiful divorce you've ever seen.”

Alvarez cautions that visitors to wooded areas of the park between Sunday evening and Monday morning should avoid any disembodied instrumental music, particularly from stringed instruments.
